Domain WHOIS & DNS Lookup · on the Apify Store

Who registered that domain, when, and until when.

Paste domains or URLs and get registrar, creation and expiry dates, domain age, status, nameservers and DNSSEC from the registry's own RDAP service, plus A, MX, SPF and DMARC records. Popular TLDs without RDAP (.io, .co, .so, .de) fall back to WHOIS automatically.

  • $1 per 1,000 domains
  • Invalid inputs, duplicates and failed lookups are free
  • Age and days-to-expiry computed for you

A list of domains in, one row per domain out

Call it from Python, any HTTP client, Make, Zapier, n8n, or an AI agent through Apify's MCP server.

  • domains: domains or URLs; https://www.bbc.co.uk/news becomes bbc.co.uk
  • includeDns (default on): A, AAAA, MX, NS, SPF, DMARC and TXT at no extra charge
  • A SUMMARY record lists every input, including duplicates and invalid ones
  • Respects your maximum cost per run exactly

Runs on your own Apify account. Apify's free plan includes monthly credits, so small tests cost nothing.

What people use it for

Brand protection

Spot newly registered look-alike domains by age, registrar and nameservers.

Portfolio management

Find every domain expiring in the next 30 days, across registrars.

Lead qualification

Domain age as a trust signal; MX shows Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.

Deliverability audits

List the domains without SPF or DMARC.

Domain research

Check whether names on a shortlist are registered.

Agent tools

Let an AI agent answer "how old is this domain and who hosts its DNS?"

Pricing

Each domain with a registry answer, registered or not, is one charged event at $0.001. Invalid inputs, duplicates, unsupported TLDs and failed lookups cost nothing.

Limits you should know about

  • Registrant names and emails are usually redacted by registries and registrars (GDPR); we return only what is published.
  • Some registries publish little: .de gives no creation or expiry date, and a few ccTLDs have no public RDAP or WHOIS (reported as free errors).
  • likelyAvailable means the registry has no record; premium or reserved names can still be unavailable. Registries rate-limit very heavy use.

Frequently asked questions

What is RDAP?

The Registration Data Access Protocol, the official JSON successor to WHOIS that ICANN requires for gTLDs. Structured answers mean dates and registrars are reliable instead of parsed from free text.

Which TLDs work?

Every TLD with an RDAP service in IANA's bootstrap list (over 1,000, including .com, .net, .org, .uk, .dev, .app, .ai, .fr, .nl), plus WHOIS fallback for .io, .co, .so, .de, .me, .tv and others.

Am I charged for unregistered domains?

Yes, that is a valid answer ($0.001). Invalid inputs, duplicates and failed lookups are free.

Can I cap what a run costs?

Yes. Set a maximum cost per run on Apify; the run stops exactly there. In our test a $0.0025 cap returned exactly 2 domains.
