Tech stack for a whole list, by API
This page checks one website at a time. For a list of leads, the same detector runs behind one API call and returns JSON with each technology, its category and its evidence. Sites that fail to load are not billed.
curl https://siftwright.com/v1/tech-stack \
-H "Authorization: Bearer sw_live_YOUR_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"urls": ["stripe.com", "basecamp.com"]}'
Plans start at $29/month. Prefer pay-as-you-go? The Tech Stack Detector is on the Apify Store at $2 per 1,000 websites.
Frequently asked questions
Is this tech stack checker free?
Yes. No account and no card. Everyone shares a daily allowance (up to 15 free runs per network per day across our free tools, plus a fixed daily total). A site you've checked is cached for 24 hours.
How does it detect technologies?
It fetches the homepage once and reads what the server says about itself: response headers, meta tags, script and stylesheet paths, and cookies. It also looks up the domain's DNS (MX, SPF, nameservers) to identify the email and DNS provider. Every detection lists the evidence it came from, so you can verify it.
Why is a technology missing?
Detection is based on public signals from the homepage and DNS. Anything rendered only after login, hidden behind a CDN that strips headers, or loaded after user interaction can be missed. Treat the result as strong evidence of what is present, not proof of what is absent.
Does it see the backend or database?
Only if the site exposes it, for example through a header or a generator tag. Most backends are invisible from outside, and we don't probe for them.
Is it OK to check other people's websites?
It makes a single ordinary page request, like a browser visit, plus public DNS lookups. It does not scan ports or test for vulnerabilities.
How do I check a whole list of websites?
Use the Tech Stack Detector: the same engine takes lists through the Siftwright API (/v1/tech-stack) or as an Apify Actor at $2 per 1,000 websites, and failed sites are free.
